eBizTS Intranet Forum

Product Features:

eBizTS Forum is a Web Based Intranet Forum for Windows NT/2000 Server Platforms. It features Rich Text, Multiple File Attachments, Thread Indentation, Posts Expansion/Contrast, Group/Member/Forum Management and Configurable Themes. The Management Functions allow the System Admin to manage the Members and the Groups. The Group Leaders will be able to assign the Group Members and to create the Forum/Bulletin Boards for that Group.

Download and Installation:

Download eBizTSForum.msi to your local drive and double click to activate it. You will be asked for the subdirectory to install. Once you decide the subdirecoty, the files will be copied and the following 2 virtual directories will be setup:

Forum Introduction:

There are 3 roles in this Forum System: The Admin, the Group Leaders, and the Members.

There is only one admin in this forum system. When the system is initially built, the default admin e-mail (login) and password are: eBizTSSupport@ebizts.com and FORUM. Admin can do everything in this forum. The major functions unique to this Admin are:

The members will be able to post and read messages on the forums belong to the Group(s) he/she belongs.

Getting Started

In this example, we will start from scratch to build the Members, Groups, and the Forums. Once they are built, Members, Group Leaders and the Admin will be able to use this forum, which is straightforward.

We assume the site is installed properly and the site name is http://www.MyWebSite.com .

The entrance for all users is: http://www.myWebSite.com/eBizTSForum.

The Admin Logs in by using: eBizTSSupport@ebizts.com as e-mail and FORUM as password.

The Admin clicks Member_Admin link and then click Add User button to add a member Gary Payton. The e-mail is payton@lakers.com and the default password is 1234.

The Admin adds another member Karl Malone. The e-mail is malone@lakers.com and the default password is 1234.

The Admin click Group_Admin link and then Add Group button to add a group Named Lakers2003, and assign Karl Malone as the Group Leader.

The Admin let Karl Malone and Gary Payton know the e-mail and the password.

Karl Malone logs in.

Before Karl Malone can do anything, he will be asked to change the default password to something else and login again by using the new password. This is for security reason.

Now, Karl can click on Add Bulletin/Forum button to add a bulletin/forum called KarlForum.

To let members participate in this Forum, Karl has to add members to his group. Karl clicks on Member_Admin, then clicks Manage Group Membership, and click Edit on his group Lakers2003.

Karl wants Gary Payton to be his member of Lakers2003, so he clicks Add under Action column on Gary Payton's entry. Now Gary Payton is in.

Now, when Gary Payton logs in, he will, after changing the password from default password, be able to participate the Forum called KarlForum. Actually, at this point, only Karl Malone and Gary Payton can use this forum.

Note: It is strongly recommended to change the e-mail and password Admin after you first login. To do this, just click on Personal_Profile and change them. It is also recommended to change the default password and default Super Password by clicking into Tech_Admin. Note that the Super Password will allow you to login as any member without knowing that person's password.
